Before you buy

Six things to check before you click buy

A fixture that fits is mostly paperwork. These are the questions we'd ask first.

  1. 01

How many holes does the sink have?

A single-hole faucet won't fill a three-hole sink without a deck plate. The product page lists the hole count and the spacing.

  2. 02

Does the fixture come with its valve?

Shower and tub filler trim often sells separately from the rough-in valve behind the wall. Check which one you're buying.

  3. 03

    Do the connections match?

Supply lines vary in length and thread. We bring the common ones, but a short line behind a deep cabinet needs a longer one.

  4. 04

    Is the mounting depth right?

Thick stone or a tall backsplash can leave a faucet shank too short to fasten. The spec sheet gives the maximum deck thickness.

  5. 05

    What else sold separately?

Drains, deck plates, handles and diverter parts can each be extra. Read the box contents, not the photo.

  6. 06

    Can you return it?

Ask before you order. Keep it boxed until we've test-fit it.

If it doesn't fit

Keep the box until we've test-fit it

A faucet that's been installed usually can't go back. We'll test-fit before we tighten anything, and tell you the same day if it doesn't suit your sink or valves.

Before install day

  • Leave it boxed until install day

  • Keep the receipt and the return window in view

  • Send the model number and we'll flag trouble before you open it

Questions about bringing your own

Can I buy the fixture myself?

Yes, most jobs start that way. Send us the maker and model, or a link, before you order. We check the hole count, the connections and the parts list, so a surprise shows up before install day.

What if it doesn't fit?

Keep the box and the receipt until we've test-fit it. If the fixture doesn't suit your sink, counter or valves, return it unused and we'll tell you what would.

Do you sell fixtures?

We install what you choose. If you want a second opinion on a model, ask before you order.

What do I do before install day?

Clear the cabinet under the sink, or the floor around the tub. Put the fixture, its box and any extra parts where we can find them. Tell us where the shutoff valves are if you know.
